This live-edge, bird's eye maple slab was originally worn, torn and full of holes when milled. But after planning, sanding, and filling all cracks, checks, and knots with food-safe black and red epoxy resin, new life has sprung from old wood.
Now, the natural beauty and character of this unique piece is respected and protected.
It was sanded up to 220 grit (meaning that the grain will be silky smooth to the touch), and was finished with food in mind. Food-grade black and red epoxy and natural Odie's Oil were the only materials used in the revitalization process.
