Rustic/Industrial farmhouse table by Nathan Standridge, crafted in Barnardsville, NC using aged pine, charcoal grey epoxy resin, and Steeltek structural steel.

A year ago, my sister-in-law called me and told me about a man from Leicester, NC who was moving and needed to get rid of some old wood that had been sitting in his barn for ages. (Thanks, Mindy!) So after a grueling day of moving through a lifetime of stored possessions to find this aged pine - and after a few more weeks of bug treatment and kiln drying - when I finally got around to experimenting with this wood, I COULD NOT BELIEVE so much beauty existed behind the mask of age. But I shouldn’t have been surprised. This old barn wood earned its right to beauty. It fought to live and be restored despite all the challenges of life that sought to destroy it, and all I really needed to do was draw out its legacy.

This piece is one of a kind. Once it is gone, there will never be another exactly like it, although keep in mind that I can accept custom orders using this same barn wood. You choose the size. You choose the color of epoxy resin to fill the natural cracks and voids in the wood. And I'll do the rest.

For a more detailed look at the color and character of this table, check out the video on our blog. Although the table pictured is not exactly the same as the one in the video, both tables were created from the same stack of barn wood, using the same epoxy method.

If you have any questions about this piece, or if you have a different tabletop in mind, or even if you want to snag this piece up before anyone else gets it, fill out the contact form or email me ironandpinewoodworking@gmail.com.

ABOUT THE WOOD

Real wood has grains, knots, pitting, cracks, and mineral deposits. While we take all the proper steps in the building process, like kiln drying, stabilization, bracing, and proper finishing, real wood can bow, crown or split on occasion. Each piece will be as unique as the natural wood that we work with.

No refunds.
